Leg flagged peewit (1 Viewer)

We ringed and leg flagged two broods of peewit the other day (hopefully two more broods to do). This is our third year - and we re-sighted one of the first year's birds last year. The aim is to improve collection of information on movement, site-fidelity, and survival over just ringing alone. We are indebted to Dr.Jen Smart (RSPB) for help with this.

Please watch out for these birds. The flags are lime green with alpha-numeric codes placed above the right tarsus. If you see peewit (lapwing) and get the opportunity, please check carefully as it would be very easy to overlook the flags. If you do see them, please report to the BTO in the normal way :
