This does sound more of a bark - but the interval is good and with different sound recording!
Yes good to hear Adrian saw the Dipper again over the weekend.Dipper seen today as per Adrian Platt
I've visited the reserve three times in the last few weeks in search of somewhere else to go and have been really impressed; it has some brilliant wet woodland with lots of rotting trees and I'd be surprised if it did n't have LS woodpecker 20-25 years ago . The chances of that species being there now is very slim , even in the large area of no public access between the R.Rea Cycleway and the railway. That area must have woodcock ,snipe and even jack snipe but no-one will ever know. Today saw treecreepers ,GSWs ,nuthatches, teal, moorhen, mallard, grey wag ( but no dipper),redwing, water rail (heard only) and all the regular tits and common birds. Did n't visit Merecroft Pool on the other side of Wychall Lane but last week had goosander and redpoll there.I made a quick stop at Wychall Meadows.
Bumped into Chris and next thing I could hear a Dipper singing.
Found it just along the River Rea from the footpath/footbridge.
Next thing another Dipper flew in.
2 Wychall, River Rea Dippers.
Good to see one go under the brown river.

WC as in woodcock ? If one was heard it must have been during the breeding season, which makes it more interesting .Wintering woodcocks don't call.Hi Paul,
Good to read. I keep a look out.
LSWP & WC seen in the last 5 years as on BTO.
WC possibly heard recently on twitter.
BTO has a record of Snipe in 2003.
Hi Paul. Thanks. The Twitter report was wrong then.WC as in woodcock ? If one was heard it must have been during the breeding season, which makes it more interesting .Wintering woodcocks don't call.
Sunday after the Dipper at Cannon hill, Kate saw a Dipper briefly at Wychall. This morning in the rain and snow, after the Dipper at Cannon Hill park, 2 Dippers appeared at a brown, fast flowing River Rea, Wychall. 2 Grey Wagtails didn't like the Dippers. 2 Heron calling overheard.
Nice one Keith! Good to hear!DIPPER on River Rea in Kings Norton this afternoon in terrible light.(iso 6400).
