Just arrived home from a few days in Berlin had a great time it wasn't a Birding trip it was mainly a trip to look at the German Christmas Markets they were very nice but did notice the birds saw lots of House Sparrows & Hooded Crows.

For Waxwings ( Seidenschwanz ) look bevor into ornitho.de
If the come quite often in big groups. 2014 I saw no waxwings. Winter 2012/2013 almost on each bird tour in winter, somethimes groups of 1.500.

Berlin area is best in October and April/ Mai depended of the weather.
In winter Baltic coast is much better.

Sparrows are very common in north east. In south Germany is different, all will killed which brings no profit or pays nothing.

Schloss Charlottenburg was quite pleasant for a couple of hours in the snow this p.m. with plenty of Hawfinches and woodpeckers. Middle-spotted feeding on the ground in the feeding area on the left hand side behind the palace.
