Is this bird sick? (1 Viewer)

This sparrow has been quite sluggish at my feeders. He/she has been going from one to the other since yesterday and sitting idle for long periods of time. She will peck away at the food sometimes but for the most part she's just sitting there. I can get very close and she doesn't seem bothered at all. Wondering if she's sick? Any ideas? Here are some pics. Thanks!
Jody

She sure doesn't look well. Can you bring her to a wildlife rehabilitator or vet?

Hi Jody and a warm welcome from me too.

Yes, as KC says, she really doesn't look well at all I'm sorry to say.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hi Jodyn,

This looks like a female house finch who is very unwell. The symptoms of a sick bird are exactly as you describe: sluggish, feathers fluffed up, tame enough to approach. Finches are highly social birds and have been hit hard recently by disease outbreaks transmitted at feeders. Take your feeder down for two weeks to a month to allow nearby birds who have potentially been exposed to leave the area rather than congregating at a food source (think of it like covid quarantine). Clean it thoroughly, with bleach. Call your local wildlife rescue to let them know.
