im new to birding and i only know of a few hides on stranford lough. does anyone want to tell me where to find others, in the north of antrim preferibly.

what are your views of the wwt centre castle espie, i love it i go there at least once a year thats what got me started birding.

Try the RSPB hide on Belfast Lough excellent at this time of year for terns and lots of other birds. You access it from the Dee street exit on the belfast - bangor road.

Castle Espie also good spot.

How about the Bar Mouth Hide near Castlerock. You'll need a key to get in, and I'm not sure where to get one now - try RSPB, they might help.

How about the Bar Mouth Hide near Castlerock. You'll need a key to get in, and I'm not sure where to get one now - try RSPB, they might help.

Its a great place. As for the key, there is usually one kept below the stone to the left side of the hide. This has only recently been the case and from what i can gather it has been agreed to only continue this arrangement while it is not abused by the public.

Its also a great place for people watching (dogging im told its apparently called). I have seen some interesting things there on a few occasions, lol.
