Left the house at 5 a.m. today and drove 2+ hours to bird Lake Apopka North Shore Restoration Area--CR448A entrance (Lake Co.) and Lake Apopka NSRA--Clay Island Trailhead. Great way to start the year with 4 rare species. The portion of Lake Apopka NS Restoration that held a majority of the birds we found out today will be closed for a month starting Jan 5, 2015. So we lucked out by going today. Bad day for photography. Overcast, gray sky's so was unable to get decent pic's of many of the birds. However, overall a great day in the field
