Please ID this duck for me.
The beak appears to be dark, but on close inspection, it looks as if there is some red towards the top, I'm a bit colour blind though, mainly red/brown and blue/purple (and the millions of shades in between these colour pairings)
It might be that there is a lack of pigment and this is a straight up Cape Teal, but I think there might be some shoveler genes mebbies.

I agree on female cape shoveler . Apart from bill coloration better for that one there is also a different shape in the bill in cape teal. this bill here looks a bit short for cape shoveler but I think that is down to the angle. also i think even in this photo ground color of flanks would be visibly somewhat lighter than in mantle/scapulars/tertials...
 
Thanks Joern, I thought the beak was too small for Cape Shoveler initially, and thought it had a red eye of the Teal at first glance, (see colour issues in my initial post). I thought It might have been something in between.

Thanks again both of you for clearing this up for me.
