Directions from Warrington to Moore NR on foot (1 Viewer)

Could someone please give me directions to help me walk from Warrington Bank Quay station to Moore NR please?

I found some directions here

http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/wild-places-and-geography/26460-moore-nature-reserve.html

but the details of the footpath from Slutchers Lane seem a little vague.

Could anyone talk me through it from the Golf Range please?

Or if there is a bus from Warrington that could get me close to the reserve main entrance, that would be handy - it looks like a bit of a walk.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the footbridge over the railway.........I looked at it last week (from a distance) and TBH it didn't look passable.
Below is a link to Streetmap.

From Bridgefoot you can walk along the 5060 with the river on your right. Perhaps 1 mile turn right down Taylor St and then right into Eastford Rd. Perhaps 1/2 mile on left is a sign to Moore Bridge......this takes you into the reserve and the 1st hide is 1/4 mile on right.......try to get or download a map as the hides are not easily seen. Longish walk but quite pleasant.

Thanks David, that seems a clear route, but looks like it adds quite a bit to the walking distance.

Can anyone advise on whether the railway footbridge is open, and if so how to get onto the reserve from Slutchers Lane?

Been there a few times, from the golf range on the footpath it is not too far to the reserve, if you follow the footpath you come out at the railway where the footpath crosses the river turn right under the bridge and the next left takes you on to the reserve where your first hide will be the one where the Bittern is usually seen.
It is a bit further along to reach Lapwing lane but there is plenty to see on the way ,it is about fifteen minutes walk from the golf range

I have just had a look on Google Earth...........is the path to the left hand corner (if standing with back to American golf)??.........if so it does indeed look as though it comes out close to the reserve.

When you get into the reserve take the path to the left and look for the metal gate on the right which takes you to the 1st hide.
Walking further along you will see a minor path which forks right.....take that as it leads to the 2nd hide.
When you get to the main car park there is a signpost with free maps which is very useful as the reserve is quite big not easy navigate on your 1st visit.
Enjoy.

Thanks guys - it is a bit clearer on Google Earth.
Yeah , if your walking from Bank Quay the path is on the right and begins well before you reach the golf range as the path gets level with it, it turns right and opens out by the bridge, the footpath runs parallel with the railway over the ribble then drops down onto the road, turn right under the railway bridge then next left and the rest is easy;)
