Finally reached 300!
Walking this afternoon along the lower prom in Tynemouth. No bins so relying on MK1 eyeballs. A group of finch like birds spotted. Colouring best described as similar to turnstones, ie motley but brightish russet shades. All had noticable white outer tail feathers a la chaffinch. One of the group was striking ly all over white on undersides when in flight whereas rest were more mottled in colouring.
Scanning through Collins the Snow Bunting looks most likely, but is there a much more obvious ID?
