BTX 85 and Wind (1 Viewer)

We use a systematic style carbon fiber tripod that has leg diameters in line with a Gitzo series 4 systematic tripod. It still shakes some in the wind. The image shakes is much less than tripods with thinner legs, and we can use the setup in conditions that make tripods with thinner legs unusable, but it is not shake-free.

Everything is a compromise.

Sometimes wood (Berlebach), sometimes CF (Gitzo).

Ask the bird to move.

Regards,
B.
But of course the main issue with the btx is that to keep both eyes in the scope, you have to walk around the tripod as you scan left or right, unless you have some uniquely designed extendable eyeballs or extending neck.
Particularly difficult if you are sitting down.
