Birds needed for bird race (1 Viewer)

UK Bird guide
Hi all, for my 'harry, luke and joe's big london bird race' (please google it for more info) im looking for reliable london bird sites (may 28th-29th) for the following birds....

Redstart, black redstart, windchat, wood warbler, red legged partridge, tawny owl, barn owl, little owl, rook, red kite, yellow wagtail, buzzard, nightingale, turtle dove, turnstone and greater black backed gull

All sites must be within the m25 ring as this is for my bird race which is posted on the 'birds and birding forum'

The aim is to see 100 birds in 48 hours and I'm still missing reliable sites for these remaining common birds.

Please let me know if you have regularly seen any of these birds in London this year?

Thanks

Hi, sounds like a great race and I'll be keeping an eye on the blog to see how you get on!
Sorry I can't help much with the birds however for tawny owl there's a family in the kensington gardens (parents & 3 owlets) so with some searching I think you could track at least one down.

ha, I can only dream of finding these, such is my birding luck this year :C

Rook: I've seen birds at both Rainham Marshes and in the Denham area (Broadwater lake etc) this month
Red Kite: M40 area, so I would have thought that Denham should be good
Common Buzzard: Denham - There is a pair near Broadwater Lake - afternoon is a good time.

Greater black backed gull: Saw an immature one at Broadwater at the weekend. Barnes WWT is usually good too.

Unfortunately, I think you are too late for migrants like Turtle Dove, Redstart and Wood Warbler. I do not know of any breeding in London. I occasionally see Rook, Red Legged Partridge and Buzzard in the Aldenham Country Park Area. Probably your best chance for Rook and Buzzard is to drive around the area. Can't say it is reliable though.
