Anyone familiar with Andean Birding run by Jonas Nilsson and Charlie Vogt with additional guides Roger Ahlman and Borris Herrara? Considering a birding trip to Ecuador with them. Any comments pro or con welcomed. Thanks.

Just from friends' references, not personal. Great Guys!!! NO commercial interest. Tells us about the itinerary.

Considering a birding trip to southern Ecuador. Have your friends used them as guides or birded with them? What are your friends basing their opinion on? Thanks.

Roger Ahlman, Charlie Vogt, & Jonas Nilsson know their stuff. Among the best birders in Ecuador. If somethings were to fail on a trip with Andean Birding, it's either because of bad luck (bad weather, etc) or someone else not getting it right (e.g. others following "South American time" = feeling fine about arriving/leaving an hour or two later than scheduled; a few lodges and even smaller South American airlines occasionally overbook, in which case they'll claim that the last one arriving didn't book - a rare problem, but it does occur). Don't know Borris Herrara, so can't comment on him. So, to sum it up, I'd place Andean Birding among the ~4 best Ecuador-based birding companies.
