Are there any times of the year when the weather is too averse for visiting the Santa Marta region?

Santa Marta, Colombia South America. Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park east of Barranquilla.

We birded Santa Marta last June and the weather was generally good. Don't know offhand when the best time to visit is, but during our visit we enjoyed both pleasant climate and excellent birding. Much recommended.

March, May and September are OK too, the times I have been. Seem to recall strong winds on the coast in May.

Hi Phaeton... nice you are thinking in Santa Marta and Colombia in general... best times for Santa Marta are the first 6 months of the year... rain has stopped a little bit and birds are some still displaying, several nesting, and all feeding like crazy!... as Robert Scanlon replyed to you, best times I think are around March.
