We enjoy visiting Wilson Botanical Garden and surrounding trails for birding but find the tariff of $180 for the two of us per night with full board to be excessive. Two weeks ago we had a great birding experience by staying with Alison & Michael Olivieri just a few km away from LCBS on the road in from San VitoB. For $85 we enjoyed a very well appointed two bedroom one bathroom [1 queen bed, 2 singles in the other bdrm] house with full kitchen, decks with bird feeders and a nice start of provisions for breakfast. Best of all you are enjoying some time with Alison who as founder of the San Vito Bird Club can steer you in good directions for birds. We also discovered our $15/person membership in SVBC which goes to support their highly laudable school birding education program ala Cornell Labs got us into WBS free for as many visits as one can fit in during a year!
