Alkborough Flats (1 Viewer)

Hi

Having never visited Alkborough Flats, I was trying to find a bit of information about the best places to park / appropriate access roads and that type of thing, but information seems to be a bit sparse. Can anyone on here recommend the best places to park and advise if there are any maps available anywhere? I have found a lot of references on different websites, but these seem to be non-birding on the whole.

Thanks!

Owen

I believe the road down to alkborough flats as been closed, but not sure for how long for. There is a new carpark on the whitton road. If you drive out of the village along whitton road, after a few hundred yards you'll see it on your left. You then follow the path down to the flats, there signs showing which way to go. The best birding seems to be from the area around what most people call the main hide, its on the west side of the flats . There is a hide to the east but i've personally have never seen much from there, there is also a hide overlooking the river to the north.
