Does anyone know Sri Lanka and its road network well enough to advise on the following...?

We're planning to visit Kitagula, Sinharaja, Udawalawe, Yala, Bundala, Marissa and Nuwara Eliya. What is the most efficient order in which to take them out of Colombo to minimise driving time, and ending up back at Colombo of course?

Thanks in advance,
Andy.

itinery

If starting at Colombo airport perhaps do a clockwise itinery

Kitulgala, Nuwaa Eliya, uda Walawe, Sinharaja, Mirissa, Bundala, yala

If it were me I would pass up on the Mirissa whale watching as this is reportedly overrated.

By the way, may I enquire : when are you going? I am going in May 2014

Hi, kasfig and thanks for the notes. I also posted on ‘information wanted’ and the best advice from there so far is as follows:

"Airport-Kitulgala-Nuwara Eliya-Yala/Bundala (for both you will probably stay in Tissa)-Udawalawe-Sinharaja-Mirissa-Colombo (for the last leg you can use the new motorway)"

i.e. not too dissimilar to yours.

You gotta see a Blue Whale and it's as good an opportunity as any. I've seen one off Iceland but my mates haven’t...

We're out there in December - hope you have a great trip in May,
Andy.

A few notes from our trip are now posted under this thread:
