Acle - midway between Gt Yarmouth and Norwich on the main A47.
OS Map 134

Car park at Budgens or the back of Barclays, trains to Norwich & Gt Yarmouth

Starting at TG 021 100 you'll see the entrance to Damgate Woods, a boardwalk trail goes through the woods with some seats along the way. Lots of finches, tits, and other woodland birds, plenty of birdsong, also Green & GS Woodpecker. You'll meet with the Weavers Way footpath, turn left and head over the level crossing. ( if you want, you can turn right here and end up in Gt Yarmouth after about 12 miles. Route takes you through the countryside and along the river via Berney Marshes - can be a good walk in winter for the geese & waterfowl, waders on Breydon etc ) Beyond the level crossing, however, you'll come to a boat staithe and eventually to Acle Bridge - and the pub ! - after a couple of miles.

Can turn round and walk back again then.

As well as the woods, the walk includes views of open countryside, marshland and riverfront.
