Record[for me]
21 Whinchat in a local valley I have been visiting for past 2 years.
Numbers have been building steadily this year and today there was a mass
showing of Whinchats at about 6.30 pm.The sun was about to sink below the hill and up they popped.
They are silent at this time of year so you have to keep your eyes peeled.
Also 2 Osprey and 2 Spotted Flycatchers at Foulshaw.
It doesn't get much better.

Would like to think at least one of those whinchats will make its way down the Lancashire coast over the bank holiday weekend

Cheers - my eyes are peeled.

The way they were carrying on I reckon they are just about to go.Saw 2 vey young ones being fed but most are looking ready to take off.
Never seen so many Spotted Flycatchers too this year in Cumbria. They should be passing through as well.
Good Luck!

You'll hear the cry of joy across the bay if I get a whinchat! Monday early morning is looking favourite at the mo.
Good to hear Spot flys have done well, bout time they had a bit of good fortune.

Cheers
