13th / 14th May 2008 trip advice (1 Viewer)

Lurking in the bushes is wrong.
Hi everyone.

I've been let loose for two days, Tues & Weds, this week. I live in Warrington, Cheshire. Can anyone improve on my proposed schedule, in light of recent sightings or better places within the same distance?

I'm staying at Penrith overnight, that's already booked and paid for.

My plan is:
Tues
1) Get to beach at Hodbarrow shortly after dawn (very relaxing).
2) Drive up to St Bees Head.
3) Go across to see the Ospreys at Bassenthwaite.

Wed
1) Make my fourth attempt to see the Golden Eagle at Haweswater.
2) Leighton Moss on the way home.

Does this plan appear sound? Do any locals or experienced birders think it could be improved? It's an annual pass I get, so I don't want to waste it!

Thanks very much.
