    A nice day in early March, we decided to go up one of my favourite glens, Glen Moy. There were some Northern Lapwing, a bit distant, so I needed to find some landmarks to get this picture. They seem to get rather large mole hills up there, don't they LOL Saturday fun

    Yep. Fall migration was underway and there were plenty of waders at low tide at Leangenbukta, including one Lappwing - a bird that we used to have scores of nesting here and there around town, but now farming techniques have changed and we found only one nesting pair this last Spring.

    I took a hike out on the peat bogs at the back of the farm where we were staying and apparently walked too close to where this Lapwing had its nest and/or chicks. S/he circled around me a few times, calling loudly, but eventually I was out of his/her territory ... until I had to pass through it...
