    Carolina Wrens abandoned nest?

Hello all! I have a bit of a situation.. a lovely pair of Carolina Wrens recently made a nest in a bucket full of horse bandages on a shelf in my garage here in middle Tn. The eggs hatched about a week ago, I believe there are 5 chicks, I have only ever used a camera to zoom in from a distance...

Carolina Wren and Downy Woodpecker at the Suet feeder. They perched that way for nearly 5 minutes. Finally the Wren took over the feeder.

Weaverville, N Carolina USA - wren mocking warbler song?

This has bothered me for some time, so I thought I would ask. In late Spring, I was in North Carolina birding, when I heard a Worm-eating Warbler. According to all the maps that bird is quite possible in the area where I was birding. I took multiple BirdNet samples and they all came back with...

Looking more like a Nuthatch in that pose

Carolina Wren The Carolina Wren is a small but chunky bird with a round body and a long tail that it often cocks upward. The head is large with very little neck, and the distinctive bill marks it as a wren: long, slender, and downcurved.

    hi

I had a question and found this site! My question disappeared-because in the meantime 5 of six baby Carolina wrens jumped out of their nest. One is still there… We are not sure where on the property they are. This was my first experience watching nest building and baby feeding etc. WOW!! I’m...

    Alternate Angle

Another shot of the one-eyed Carolina Wren. I'm not sure what happened to lose it that eye, but it seems healthy enough. There's a small thinned or bare patch below the hollow socket, and in August it seemed to have a small bare area on its back, so I wonder if it might have been injured and the...

    Little One-Eyed Survivor

I saw what I assume was this same bird in August 2021, so it was nice to see it again, still seeming to do well. It had several fledgelings with it in August, all of them feeding together. This time, there was one adult near it, and it was chirping to the other bird. Both times, it's seemed to...

    Carolina wren in the snow

Connecticut's first snowfall of the year didn't stop a feeder regular, a Carolina wren, from foraging for seeds. Actually, he's looking down waiting for me to wade through the snow and fill it.

    Carolina Wren in Shed

There is a Carolina Wren, sometimes two, who like to take refuge inside my run-down shed at night. I would often see them perched on wasp nests; hopefully not still occupied by the wasps. I made a video of this bird: Carolina Wren in Shed. I've also seen an occasional cardinal in the shed as well!
