    Goosander (1M 1F) at Merecroft Pool this morning, Water Rail calling, and the mysterious hybrid duck again. A couple of small flocks of Redwing. Jackrabbit had seen the Water Rail, and a Little Grebe, earlier.

    Plenty of Blackcap and Chiffchaff around this morning. The heron nest on the Merecroft Pool island was empty - does anyone know if it's been used this year? I'm guessing not.
