    Getting into M4/3

Ended up with a EM5 iii with 2 lenses (60mm macro) pretty happy with it... Might have to sell the p950 and get the 100-400mm now!

    Getting into M4/3

Very relevant, thank you Neils! It sounds like the E-M1 MK ii or iii would be a good choice!

    Getting into M4/3

Hello all, I currently have a P950, and whilst I can get okish ID photos, I'd like something where I can get more successful shots without hunting for focus and also something I can use a macro lens on too. I saw the Canon R10 and the 800mm lens which look good, but the lenses offered by...

    Move shoot move tridapter.

Its definitely good value for money and atleast its all some kind of metal! I'd definitely look at some liquid thread seal or something to make it smoother when turning the dials though, it should make it a bit better for fine tuning. Its handy how it fits on some bins as well as scopes too!

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

This is the adhesive I think people note in the EII Then this is the issue with mine that as you can see is deep inside the body. However upon looking closer with my headtorch on and through a pair of 8.5x papilio it actually seems this is old dried adhesive on the black part of the body, it...

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

I tried to get some better photos, it does seem very far back in the body of the Binocular. It really does look like something peeling/adhesive like though - so could very well be seperation of some kind

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

Thanks everyone, I ended up lodging a return request...Knew it was too good to be true for the price I got them for! Thats a very frustrating experience too, especially if they were new! The photos I took above were via the objective looking down into the body. I did think it could be...

Is it usually repairable or not worth it?

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

I wonder if it could be basalm seperation...Its the only thing I can find that looks similar to it

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

I was considering it unless I could get them repaired/cleaned, they were off Amazon Japan so I don't think a refund would be difficult to get. I just wish I knew what that stuff was on the prism. If it wouldn't get worse I'd just keep them.

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

I got them shipped from Japan and they seem to have come from near Tokyo (Narita?) - so not too sure on age. Serial no is 805378 so I'm guessing a mid-run. Ahh so they'll very likely need a service to stop it progressing? Luckily it doesn't affect the view at the moment! Heres a closer photo

Nikon 8x30 EII - Strange Issue Inside Lens?

Hello, I just received my pair of used Nikon 8x30 EII today and did a torch check inside to make sure all is ok and noticed some weird stuff on the inside...I want to say its adhesive but want to be sure but it looks like its on the mirror possibly? It doesn't look like fungus. They seem in...

Thanks mate, I'll keep trying! Very keen to try the EII when they arrive regardless :)

8x30 EII - Eyecups and Cap Replacements

I did message Nikon UK as well as Japan too - Nikon Australia just sent me to a "repair agent" here in Western Australia. How long did you wait? Was there much cost?

8x30 EII - Eyecups and Cap Replacements

Did the actually discontinue supplying them? I'd have to get the measurements of the objectives and then try a microscope supplier, that sounds like a good idea!

8x30 EII - Eyecups and Cap Replacements

Hello all, I managed to snag a pair of EII for $450 AUD 💪 It did appear they have had their eyecups folded down and therefore rubber deterioration. Has anyone found a supplier for the eyecup replacements and also the objective/rear caps? I did see some on ebay but they seem to have a big...

    Move shoot move tridapter.

I have that adaptor (the original one they released) and it works pretty well. Its all metal and allows for good adjustment. Could probably use a bit of threadlock on it to slow the speed your able to adjust, to make it a little more fine but its definitely worth the $. Happy to post photos if...

    Perth

I live in Perth (south near Fremantle). End of January is very hot, but early morning and late evening is good. Lots of easily accessible places, but you may need a rental car - as others said Lake Herdsman is popular and around Cockburn there is wetlands. Lots of other places further out like...

    Dodotronics or Parabolic Microphone UK?

I think the interface would suit me well then as I think the 24bit would be a good place for me to start without having big audio files whilst learning and it keeps it simple. I also like the idea that its a small portable unit, but your right sometimes birds are pretty far away here or I...

    Dodotronics or Parabolic Microphone UK?

Thank you for your awesome response Jon! I think I considered the parabola as the go for me as I'm in Australia so there is usually quite a distance between me and the bird, so I'm frequently using a 10x binocular for that little bit of extra reach. So I thought it would be best to go for a...

    Dodotronics or Parabolic Microphone UK?

I'd like to start making recording using a parabolic microphone setup but I'm a bit lost where to start. I saw the Dodotronics Hi-sound Compact with the USB interface which looks good... But then I also saw the Parabolic Microphone UK kit which is much cheaper and a larger dish but I'd need to...

Celestron Regal M2 vs Svbony SV406P

Haha I know right, my partner had just brought me MacDonalds as I was opening it all up 😜. I agree, its very handy when there are reviews of scopes so you can make an informed decision. It was hard with the SA401 because there was so little online yet the scope looked really good...So it could...
