Is this a clay-colored sparrow? (NV, USA)

These photos were taken by a friend at Henderson Bird Watching Preserve in Nevada.

    titmouse ID (California, USA)

Sorry about this hazy iphone photo, but my sister has been seeing these titmice and is wondering which kind they are. I believe oak titmice are most common in the LA area? This is from where she works, about 30 miles east of the city.

    Scoter help (Ohio, USA)

Sorry about the faraway photos, but I don't have much of a zoom on my camera (I'm including two versions of it, one zoomed in farther via finepix but a bit blurrier, and minus the bird on the far right.) My 8-year-old daughter took the photo, and she took a way better picture on one try than I...

    Tough waterfowl ID, Vermont, USA

This is from Lake Willoughby in northern Vermont. We were driving by and I saw five birds that looked grebe-like on the water. By the time I stopped the car and got my binoculars out they flew off, so I never got a look, but my wife snapped a quick photo of two of them. If anyone has a clue...

    Western Mass?

Can anyone recommend places to birdwatch in Western Mass, especially Berkshire county? I grew up there but have not lived in the area in over 20 years. I believe the "bird sanctuary" in Lenox is no longer what it used to be? Any recommendations would be appreciated. I will be there in June...

    Los Angeles, CA ID

Sorry about the small picture, but my sister, who lives in a relatively urban neighborhood of Hollywood, sent me this photo of two birds on wires outside her apartment. My guess is western bluebirds. Make sense in the city in January?

    IDs from Egypt

A friend of mine just returned from Egypt and sent me a few bird photos, a pigeon, a kingfisher, and two unknown birds. Can anyone help? I believe that the bird in flight in the third photo is the same kingfisher as in the second photo.

    Las Vegas area recommendations

I'm planning early, so hopefully someone can help me out. I will be taking a trip to Las Vegas in March, and will have one morning or afternoon to do some birding. It's an area of the country wholly different from where I live (Ohio), so even common local birds will be exciting for me to see...

    birding in Northern Maryland/Delaware?

I am unexpectedly going on a brief trip to Elkton, Maryland, wihch is on the Delaware border and also near the Pennsylvania border. Is there anyone who is familiar with the area who can recommend someplace for me to try my luck, assuming I don't have very much time? Unfortunately I won't be...
