Identification
20cm. Sexually dimorphic. Dark green, yellow head and undertail coverts, the female lacks the yellow plumage. rising whistle followed by a falling 'tinkle' (Pratt et al 1987). The species feeds on fruits in the canopy.
Distribution
Islands of Kadavu and Ono in the Kadavu Group in the south of Fiji.
Taxonomy
Monotypic.
Habitat
Forested areas.
Behaviour
The diet includes fruits.
It builds a loose thin platform from twig-like vines. The female incubates the eggs and cares for the young.
Voice: A single ascending note followed by a strange click.
