Identification

Male
- Dark blue upperparts
- Blue crown and edges of upper wing-coverts and flight feathers
- Purplish-blue underparts
- Black iris, bill and legs
Female duller blue above and dark brown below.
Immature dull blue upperparts with brown wing-coverts, fawn underparts, speckled dark brown.
Distribution
Mountains of west and central Java.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Montane rainforests at heights around 900–3000 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of fruit and berries.
Breeding
There is little information. They build a cup nest.
