Barred Honeyeater - BirdForum Opus

Identification

16–20 cm
Long, slender, down-curved bill, pale scalloping on crown and nape, fine greyish barring below.

Distribution

New Caledonia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Clements places this species in the genus Gliciphila.

Habitat

Primary and secondary montane forests, scrubland and gardens.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists mostly of nectar, insects and some fruit. They are very acrobatic feeders.
