    lightweight bins

I've started something with my new Opticron Countryman bins. My mum has taken a shine to them.......mainly because of the weight - 630g (22.2 oz). She has a pair of Swift Belmonts but she finds them too heavy to carry round (with case they are 1050g / 37 oz) so she is think about getting...

Which camera and scope for digiscoping - £1000 budget?

Kevin to be completely pedantic its the 'Image Conversion Factor', I just use the phrase multiplication factor as an aid memoir e.g. EF equivalent = EF-S x 1.6 EF-S equivalent = EF x 1.6 Whatever format you are converting from you always multiply by 1.6...hence multiplication factor...

Which camera and scope for digiscoping - £1000 budget?

The Canon EF-S mount is designed for the smaller APS-C sensors found on non-fullframe DSLRs. Therefore the applying the multiplication factor to a fullframe lens will give its APS-C equivalent focal length.

Which camera and scope for digiscoping - £1000 budget?

and of course don't forget that the 70-300mm lens will be closer to a 112-480mm because of the multiplication factor due to the camera sensor being smaller than 35mm film....i.e. full frame. Unless of course the lens is an EF-S mount. Also don't forget to get a decent tripod.....I would...

Where can I buy a clamp for an Olympus Stylus/Mu 850SW (790SW). I recently saw one at The Lodge, but no one in the shop knew anything about it. Thanks Andrew

I can't get to Birdfair (also £10 + petrol.....I couldn't spend as much on the bins).......and I don't quite trust Digitalrev's small print (also I don't trust their calculations as import duty into the EU in calculated on the item cost PLUS delivery costs......their calculations are on item...

    Explorer V Countryman

Hi is it worth spending an extra few quid (£24) to get the OASIS coatings? I've found the 8x42 Explorers for £150 and the Countryman for £174 (both inc p&p). Thanks Andrew

    binocular shops in Shropshire

So where are the binocular shops in Shropshire....excluding most Jessops (unless they have a good range of second hand gear)? I know that CJ Wildbird Foods sell a few pairs (Opticron and Swarovski), but they are a bit of a bugger to get to. And whist not in Shropshire Codsell and Wergs Garden...

Doh!!! The Outland LX review was in....

Yes but they were reviewing sub £200 bins so of course they may not match up to swaros......its all about best bang for your buck. If you have £200 to spend, spending the whole lot may not get you the best product, the best product could be considerably less...........and that is the point.. Andrew
