Product Review: The Sky Rover Banner Cloud 8 x 42 Binocular

    I appreciate that. 😀

Should I buy ELs now or wait for more new product releases this year?

No reason a person couldn’t use something from the EL series for the rest of your life without ever wanting for more. IMO

Product Review: The Sky Rover Banner Cloud 8 x 42 Binocular

On my politics comment, I was referring to his Trump reference, on my NL, I’m glad to have them, it’s yet to be seen if a cheap Chinese binocular can match them optically, I don’t think they will, but I could be wrong, if they do, then fine and good, it won’t be the gut wrenching thing some...

    A noob's view from a Swarovski NL Pure 12x42 and a Kowa Genisis 8.5x44.

Trying to understand if the view is washed out because of glare or just washed out period. If I look toward the sunset with mine, I see a little bit of glare, but nothing dramatic, I’ve never seen anything through my pair of 12X42 like the mess you’re describing under any circumstance. I also...

Keep politics out of it unless you’re willing to hear someone else’s point of view.

    A noob's view from a Swarovski NL Pure 12x42 and a Kowa Genisis 8.5x44.

One of you were talking about a poor washed out view in bright sunlight, the other looking over water that had a lot of glare coming off of it ?

Anyone else with these binoculars having those problems, seems like that’s an individual example that has some major out of the ordinary issues.

Product Review: The Sky Rover Banner Cloud 8 x 42 Binocular

In my mind they don’t need to do that, but the general opinion seems to be that they are either equal to, or nearly equal to the top alpha models, or at least that’s what I think I’m reading.

Product Review: The Sky Rover Banner Cloud 8 x 42 Binocular

I just did a little viewing in some really good conditions with my NL12X42, if the Chinese have figured out how to duplicate that view for under $1000 with the Sky Rover Banner Cloud 12X50, they’ve pulled off quite a miraculous feat.

Swarovski NL 8x42 vs Skyrover apo 8x42 sharpness contrast microcontrast etc

If you’re talking SF compared to NL, that’s something I’ve done firsthand, to my eyes the NL wins that comparison easily, I’ve compared the 8X42 and 10X42 SF against the 8X42 and 12X42 NL, I’m talking optics only, not ergonomics, and yes, it most definitely does matter to me a great deal when...

Swarovski NL 8x42 vs Skyrover apo 8x42 sharpness contrast microcontrast etc

Since we already have this dialogue started, maybe inappropriately in the wrong section, I’ll post this one last thing, anything from now on I’ll post in the Skyrover section.

Swarovski NL 8x42 vs Skyrover apo 8x42 sharpness contrast microcontrast etc

All my questioning is basically being done to try and find out if these really are equal to the NL optically, I don’t foresee my 12X42 going anywhere, but when someone with the stellar reputation of Holger Merlitz says what he said, then I would like to know exactly what he’s getting at, are...

Swarovski NL 8x42 vs Skyrover apo 8x42 sharpness contrast microcontrast etc

I think it was usually toward the bottom, I’m sure winged eyecups would have put a stop to it, but they wouldn’t have worked with my glasses.

Swarovski NL 8x42 vs Skyrover apo 8x42 sharpness contrast microcontrast etc

I had a pair of 10 x 42 SF, I was always bothered by the little bright Ruby red spot I could see anytime the sun was hitting the oculars from behind, they definitely had a superb view, they were very bright, but I prefer the EL/NL contrast and color. A fellow member came to my house last fall...
