    Titi monkey Santuario do Caraca

John Hall has made inquiries and apparently only black - fronted is there. I'm pretty sure that when I was there, the species present was considered to be masked so presumably they have been reidentified.

    Titi monkey Santuario do Caraca

Surprisingly I have only had one - slightly confusing responde on mammalwatching.com. An awful lot of mammal watchers will have been to Santuario do Caraca and, after the maned wolves, the titi monkey is one of the main targets.

    SriLanka Endemic Sloth Bear

I presume you mean endemic subspecies as opposed to an endemic species?

    Field guides on color e-readers?

Thanks but I meant e-readers.. My phone can't be used for back up as, being a Pixel, it doesn't have a micro SD card.

    Field guides on color e-readers?

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the advantages over a tablet, which is also useful for other things such as backing up photos?

    Titi monkey Santuario do Caraca

Now that A Field Guide to Larger Mammals of South America by Richard Webb and Jeff Blincow is out, and as I'm off to Bolivia soon, I have been going through my South American mammal sightings, which is something of a challenge. When I was in Brazil in 2011, I recorded masked titi-monkey at...

Mongolia 2025 Snow Leopard, Pallas's Cat and much more - another attempt to get a group together,

Unfortunately, at the moment, the winter is not an option as I am a teacher and need to go in the longer holiday. I have to admit Mongolia in the winter is less appealing than during the summer anyway.

    Getting into M4/3

    Seconded.

Petition to AOS Leadership on the Recent Decision to Change all Eponymous Bird Names

No trouble? An ageing hobby and many of us hopping from Africa to Asia to the Americas to Europe. That's a lot of names! A fairly wild youth has left this birder without that greatest memory.

    Chameleons in Spain

I feel I am something of a herp jinx but I do know they can be absolute sods to find. I've jammed into one, near Tarifa, once despite searching hard in supposedly good areas.

Wearing white and talking while birding?

Black combats or multi-pocketed walking trousers are my choice. Not that I'm suggesting you ditch them and buy new ones. I'm always amazed how many birders wear jeans. Fine for the home or the pub but far from ideal for birding.

    My tablet dilemma

I have a Chuwi tablet which was cheap and is reasonable for the price but not up to Apple standards - whatever you think of their computers/phones their tablets do seem to be the best. I prefer a book but if its an avifauna I know well, and I don't need to use it much, I do find a fairly large...

Wearing white and talking while birding?

I've always thought this theory is logical. I don't wear white while birding but I've never been convinced it makes much/any difference what colours you wear. The loud talking of groups to me seems more likely to put off birds just going on experience.

    Quoth the Raven "Nevermore"

I love Christopher Lee's reading of this poem. which I play when teaching it.

Request for help with a weevil id.

I have been persuaded by others that it is indeed an acorn weevil.
