    Having looked up female violet dropwing , it looks closer than Globe Skimmer , as well as more likely in that area. Any other opinions ?

    2014 UK Orchids

    Had a look at the bristol lizard orchid site this morning. Could find no more than the 2 spikes already mentioned. Think it was 2 spikes last year ? The flora is very rich and dense and the spikes are hard to spot . Can the surrounding flora be too dense Brian ? What is the habitat management...

    UK butterflies 2014

    A male orange tip yesterday on severnside. Great to see so many butterflies on the wing this weekend. lots more peacocks today , yesterday more small torts and a handful of brimstone both days. Another white today but too distant to confirm id. several comma's also today.

    Single Sand Lizard on a cold but sunny sunday 23rd march near wareham , Dorset. No other reptiles in 2 visits but 10 degree c and a very cold wind probably did not help.
