Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

I'm investigating if this setup could work, aka "poor man's BTX": piece of cellular plastic with 50mm diameter hole. In quick testing seems to work nicely.

Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

@ What is your current choice for a telescope?

Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

Yes, that it will do, but the dealer is a birder himself and he has a large customer base, people trust him on these things. He want's to sell people items that he would use himself, I appreciate that.

Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

That is exactly the thing the dealer was referring to, the reason why it does not fit for birding. I do not have the BTX experience, that is why I’m asking.

Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

Yeah, same here in Finland, during last five years I have seen BTX only once, and it was owned by a birder who just started birdwatching. That is why I'm interested if someone is using it for real HC birding.

Does BTX work at all in bird watching?

One of the local dealers said to me that they basically do not sell Swaro BTX module because "it does not work in bird watching". Is that really so? Have you been using BTX e.g. in sea watch or migration counts? I can understand that it would work if you look local perched birds, but does it...

    Upgrade to TSN-88 from TSN-883?

I’m seeking the best image quality with easy function. I think swaro 95 would be the best choice per image quality but I do not like the focusing mechanism in the Swaro telescopes. I see also that TSN-99 have had some issues on the production quality, so maybe 88a would be in the sweetspot?

    Upgrade to TSN-88 from TSN-883?

I have had TSN-883 for ten years and I have been very happy with it. I’m a keen birdwatcher. Now I’m thinking that would it be worthwhile to upgrade, maybe to 88 or 99? Or should I look maybe Swarovski 95mm or 115mm? What do you think?

Any customer review of new tsn-99?

There is a review in the latest Finnish Birding magazine: BirdLife Suomi | Linnut 4/2021 . Does someone have an access to that review and could share the details?

I just removed the ridges, works very well now: Why can't Swarovski get a little thing right? NL Objective cover issues.

    New Kowa products 2021?

I'm a bit disappointed that there is no new zoom ocular available. I would have been nice to see eg. 30x-90x or similar available :)
