    Durham Birding

Reports from a keen birder and fisherman friend of a great northern diver on Hury reservoir. Anyone heard of such a thing before?

    Dartford warbler, Bushy Park?

Teddington is more than close enough to London for me!

    Dippers..

Not sure where you mean exactly but I mean here, from the footpath on this side of the river you can often see them on the other side. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/54%C2%B044%2749.8%22N+1%C2%B033%2724.4%22W/@54.747177,-1.556784,218m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

    Dippers..

If you keep going along the river past Shincliffe Hall then round the bend, there's usually one which oyu can see from the public footpath which leads up into Butterby Woods.

    Dartford warbler, Bushy Park?

I'm 100% sure it was a dartford. First time I've ever seen one but it was distinctive. Dark, small, long tail, fast moving, dark red breast, erratic movement, hopping through the dead bracken, not staying still for long. I'm still shocked to have seen it, even the stonechat was a surprise!

    Dartford warbler, Bushy Park?

Hi all, I think I just saw a dartford warbler hanging out with a stonechat in Bushy Park. Is this a common occurence? It definitely looked like a dartford warbler. Cheers, Andy

    Yorkshire Birding

It could have been a noctule, it was quite dark obviously so maybe I'm misremembering. The former suggestion is also possible...

    Yorkshire Birding

Another Chevin question, I saw some very large bats (jackdaw-sized possibly!) fly over, what could these have been?

    Northumbrian Birding

What could I expect to see at East Chevington today? Thinking of going for the first time. Ta!

    Durham Birding

Lucky you (photo), lucky sparrowhawk (lunch), unlucky bat (lunch)!

    Yorkshire Birding

Well, that's strange! When I lived in Burley Park area all you got were drug dealers, pigeons and the occasional red kite following the train line.

    Which birds can I attract

What's the area like for trees? We get hardly any birds in our new-build garden because there are no trees in the surrounding area to provide cover for them. We get greenfinches, robins, dunnocks, blackbirds and woodpigeons regularly. I'd love to see more coming and feeding but it's probably not...

    Yorkshire Birding

Possibly saw a goshawk over the Chevin yesterday. Are they likely to be found here or is it more likely I saw a buzzard? It was quite high above the trees and I only had my eyes at the time and I couldn't follow it very far due to tree cover.

    Starling Murmurations
