Sleeping Grebes.
Great Crested Grebes are one of the most enigmatic wetland birds you may come across. However commonly seen its never taken for granted, this mother and single young were quietly sleeping in a woodland pool away from prying eyes. The Poplar trees are now spreading their seeds so the water is dappled with the white fluff from the seed casing giving the otherwise glass like surface a stippled white appearance.

This shot was attained through good field skills and the tool set that Digiscoping provides. WIthout even leaving the path i stepped off my bike and folded my tripod out as low as possible so as to to be on a similar level to the sleeping pair and began to focus.
