Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)

Usually the Sulphur Spring Valley in Southeast Arizona is a mecca for hawks in the winter. On my 4 hours out there this morning I only saw 4. This one is the first dark morph Red-tailed Hawk I have ever seen. I was lucky to get him in flight as he left the electrical pole he was perched on.

Great flight capture, Lisa. Beautiful contrast between the wings and body on this one.
