There is a bit of trickery with this image; the original had this wonderful pose, but little depth due to the ivy being directly underneath and brightly lit. I masked off the bird and lowered contrast and brightness on the background. I also added a gradient to reduce exposure the lower half of the background. This made the bird stand out. I learned this from Simon D'Entremont YouTube 😃
