Taba Heights - November (2 Viewers)

Hi

a change of holiday plans means a week in Taba Heights in November. I have failed to find any trip reports at all from birders based at this resort. Can anyone help with what may be around?

I am assuming that it will be pretty similar to what is around at Eilat, although less suitable habitat may mean less passerines?

Have had a look at trips and will probably be doing St Katherine's Monastery, but not Petra. Other than that we are unlikely to be going far from the resort

thanks

Graham

Even a search in the gallery proved fruitless as well, so it would be worthwhile doing a trip report when you get back

I'd certainly be interested to hear how you get on Graham particularly if you manage to get away from the resort. Have a great time.

Hi

Just back, and I had a great few days: highlights from the resort included Blackstart, Palestine Sunbird, Rock Martin, Spectacled Bulbul, Hooded and Desert Wheatear and Temminck's Lark, plus Sinai Rosefinch and Tristram's Starling at St Katherine's Monastery.

A full report to follow in the next week or so.

In the mean time an ID query - the attached photos are of a Buzzard on the Taba Heights Golf Course - I think it is a Steppe Buzzard, but could be Long-legged - can anyone help?

cheers

Graham
