Strange blue tit behaviour (1 Viewer)

A nest is being built in the bird box and a blue tit takes in feathers, on exit she plucks a leaf from an adjacent lilac tree and flies away with it. Can you explain this please?

Hi Carolinahug and a warm welcome to you.

I can't offer a suggestion but hopefully someone will join in with an explanation for you and us ;)

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

Sorry, I have no idea why the bird is taking a leaf and flying away with it.
