Roberto Juan Straneck is an Argentinian ornithologist and research biologist at the Laboratorio de Sonidos Naturales, División Ornitología Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales 'Bernardino Rivadavia', Buenos Aires. He has written a number of papers such as one describing two new owls, and co-wrote Field Check-list to to the Birds of Argentina (1999). He is particularly interested in animal vocalisations.
