Great shot!

I recall from my stay in Senegal there were kingfishers in extremely arid regions, and other species of kingfisher exclusively found around water. The French fieldguide I used
divided them in 'martins-chasseurs' ( dry regions ) and 'martins-pêcheurs' ( water regions ).

What's this then? Haven't got my field guide so I'm not sure what species.

Regards,

Ronald

It's a White-throated (breasted) Kingfisher -- I have one in my neighborhood regularly.

Regards back;)

It is definitely a great shot. I commented on it when I saw the thumbnail.
