Brisbane Kangaroo Point (1 Viewer)

Hi
Would appreciate any help identifying the call of species of birds living amongst building on Kangaroo Point, Brisbane Australia. Unfortunately I didn't record it, the call was a single long drawn out note, loud almost piecing, not repeated and echoed around the buildings.
I'm not sure if it was a ground feeder or tree/building dweller. A large brown feather bird with a wedge shaped tail perched on our 9th floor balustrade one morning but didn't make a call.

Thanks

Hi Mendi and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. The only bird I can think of which is large and brown and has a wedge tail is the Wedge-tailed Eagle (they whistle in flight), but the habitat seems all wrong as you're right in the middle of Brisbane? Others may know different though. You can read more about them in our Opus article: Wedge-tailed Eagle - BirdForum Opus

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
