  1. Tranquil

    Tranquil

Quiet descended with the arrival of a Peaceful Dove. Sweet little doves these, and when I say small, they are smaller than our Collared Doves.
  2. Mum

    Mum

A female Superb Fairywren to join Gary's male today!!! Obviously she has youngsters to feed so she didn't stop there long, only got a couple of pictures before she was off!
  3. Colourful

    Colourful

It seems a while since I showed you a Rainbow Lorikeet; this one sitting on a fence post trying to decide whether to come into the garden!
  4. Itchy look out post

    Itchy look out post

I had a wander round the grounds to see what I might have missed during our morning in the forest. Here was a Torresian Crow sitting on top of a termite mound. Obviously a good vantage point though..... Saturday Fun
  5. Pied

    Pied

A female Magpie-Lark seemed to be rather thirsty.... but did I tell you that the weather was unseasonably warm, even for Australia!!!? Hans had a nearly full time job topping up the numerous water bowls.
  6. Quiet for once

    Quiet for once

Back at home there was a Noisy Friarbird having a drink.
  7. A new honey lover

    A new honey lover

For some reason I forgot to show you this one on my first run through of my pictures from this trip. The one and only time I saw the Yellow-faced Honeyeater too!!
  8. Princely

    Princely

At last the male Regent Bowerbird appeared. Really handsome birds these, aren't they.
  9. Positively evil!!!

    Positively evil!!!

I wonder if it was my camera clicking, or if this White-browed Scrubwren was angry with his son for some reason LOL. As David commented yesterday... these guys always look cross!!
  10. Young teen

    Young teen

I'd seen one of these before, but this was my first picture of a White-browed Scrubwren. This is a juvenile male and was lucky enough to realise that the parents were around too. Their pictures will follow.
  11. Little Black Cormorant

    Little Black Cormorant

The Little Black Cormorant is one of only two totally black cormorants in Australia Phalacrocoracidae
  12. Splash

    Splash

I was photographing this Satin bowerbird in the pool when he suddenly shot up with spray flying everywhere LOL Saturday Fun
  13. Regent(ess)?

    Regent(ess)?

Much plainer than the male a female Regent Bowerbird has a dark cap where the male has a yellow crown.
  14. Cuckoo or dove? That is the question

Cuckoo or dove? That is the question

I found the Brown Cuckoo-Dove rather attractive really. Not sure where the 'cuckoo' connection comes from, as they raise their own chicks LOL. Must be some other connection.
  15. Creeping out of his bath

    Creeping out of his bath

This sighting of a White-throated Treecreeper was the only time I saw one on my travels. A lifer and one of only two pictures I managed to get of him.
  16. Show off

    Show off

Rufous Fantails are constantly fanning their tails. Mind you you can't blame them as they really have something to show off, don't they.
  17. 01101001

    Opus, Yellow-throated Scrubwren, Australia

Yellow-throated Scrubwren by @Pearly_Shells Is there anything in the way of it being a female (not an immature male)?
  18. Silk?

    Silk?

Well not quite, but just as beautiful LOL. My first sighting of a male Satin Bowerbird (I'd seen a female a few days before) but this was my first picture of this species. Aren't they gorgeous, especially with those pretty blue eyes.
  19. Twitchy

    Twitchy

Yellow-throated Scrubwrens are a rather fidgety species so you can spend a while chasing them around. This one really didn't make life easy LOL
  20. Enjoying himself

    Enjoying himself

This Eastern Yellow Robin was having a whale of a time. He kept jumping into the water, having a splash jumping out, shaking himself off, then back in again!!! It was a bit of a struggle to get a clear image of him really.
  21. Citrus treat

    Citrus treat

Hans pinched my clementine to feed the Green Catbirds, this one was very quick to come in for it. Rather beautiful birds these and the only place I saw them.
  22. Freshly coiffed

    Freshly coiffed

This is how an Eastern Spinebill looks once they're completed their wash and brush up. Rather smart birds aren't they.
  23. Shy

    Shy

This female Golden Whistler seemed rather reluctant to show her face to me. I didn't even notice her going down to the water for a drink.
  24. No honey here

    No honey here

A Lewin's Honeyeater was also early in for a drink and a bathe.
  25. Head-on

    Head-on

A Bar-shouldered Dove came wandering past, then pause turned and headed straight for me. He didn't seem disturbed by my shutter clicking away!
