Identification
28cm. Sandy-rusty brown breast with a breast bar, female - yellowish throat and v-markings on chest, short neck, small head, pointed wings, long pointed tail.
Distribution
Southern Africa: Namibia, Botswana and western and central South Africa.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Arid areas with short grass.
Behaviour
Diet
Diet includes small dry seeds.
Breeding
The nest is scrape in the ground amongst tufts of grass and 2-3 eggs are laid and incubated by both parents.
