- Dark brown above
- Finely barred blackish on lower back
- Rufous below, tinged grey on upper breast
- Sides of belly banded buff

Female darker on lower back, narrowly barred light buff
Distribution
South America: Southern Meta in Colombia and from Cano Cuao and Sanariapo to Cerro Duida in southern Venezuela.
Taxonomy
Treated as a race of Yellow-legged Tinamou C. noctivagus by some authors.
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Rainforest, forest edges and open woodland.
Behaviour
Diet
A ground feeder, their diet consists of fruit and vegetable matter, also fruits taken from low bushes. They also eat invertebrates.
Movements
They are thought to be a resident species.
