Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil
Taxonomy
There are 2 subspecies
- F. m. modestus:
- F. m. sclateri:
- South-eastern Colombia to northern Bolivia and Amazonian Brazil
Forpus modestus seems to be the correct scientific name, and not Forpus sclateri; additionally, F. m. eidos needed to be renamed to the older name F. m. modestus.
Habitat
Swamps and lowland damp forests and open areas.
