Identification
27–28 cm (10½-11 in)
- Brownish-grey
- Scaled appearance on crown and breast
- Paler and duller below
- Warm brown wings, crissum and tail
Distribution
South America: endemic to south-eastern Brazil (Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais to ne Santa Catarina).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Humid montane Atlantic Rainforest, mainly between 500–1000 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of fruit with the addition of large insects.
Breeding
Their nest is a small, thin platform.
