Distribution

Society Islands and Cook Islands, French Polynesia.

Taxonomy

There are 3 subspecies:

  • T. t. tutus:
  • Borabora, Maupiti, Raiatea, Huahine, Tahaa and Tahiti
  • T. t. atiu:
  • T. t. mauke:
  • Mauke Island (eastern Cook Islands)

Habitat

Moist montanes and lowland forest.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes lizards and insects.

Breeding

They nest in tree cavities.
