Identification

15–17 cm (6-6¾ in)

  • Black lores
  • Graduated tail

Distribution

Eastern Africa: found in Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Tropical highlands, in tall grass and bracken.

Behaviour

Their diet consists mostly of insects. They forage in family parties and are often found with Common Stonechat.
