Common Gull
Photographed at Salthouse in Norfolk, my limited birding experience always leads me into thinking I have found a Ring-billed Gull but, on further inspection they always turn out to be Common.

Marshland
Location
Salthouse, Norfolk.
Scientific name
Larus canus
Equipment used

Great close up ! - note the indistinct banding on the bill - A RBG has a very black solid band wrapping around the whole bill, a pale iris and in winter, limited streaking to nape and top of crown.😉

Thanks for the explanation, Deb...it's always the bill markings that gets me going first and I'll try and remember the pale iris.

A brilliantly detailed head shot, Andy.

(Thanks for putting me right on the shrew!)

Thanks Kits and JP.

Thanks Kits re the Shrew but, I was second to the party on the identification but, always good to get a second confirmation.

That's a cracking close-up of this gull in his winter plumage Andy.

Excellent work lad - thanks for showing it to us.
