A second to Late . . . (Regulus calendula)

so I missed his crest full up. Saw him with a lot of red on top of his head, raised the camera, sited in, and down it went. Lighting isn't the best. Oh well, it was still a life bird for me.

Nice work Lisa....at least you got it....our similar birds are a nightmare to see let a lone photograph.

As Adrian has said, it's a difficult bird to photograph. Looks like a lot of my goldcrest shots, but you can just about see the tip of the crest. Very sharp and nice warm lighting.

Hi Lisa; Nice to see you again, lovely capture of the Kinglet, sharp & well placed. Don't see many of them on this side of the mountains. Brrrr! in the teens! we seldom get to freezing. TFS . . . Gus

The lighting may be dim but that in itself adds a certain quality to this photo. Your focus was spot on allowing for great detail. I still see red! Great job!

Congratulations on your lifer Lisa - you did get some of the crest (something I've not been able to do on the Ruby Crowned).

Wow congratulations on this fantastic lifer!!!! great capture wonderful colors and detail
